Nancy & Ken Carlson are organizing this charity ride as a way to raise funds and awareness for Fragile X. They and their 22 year old son Derek live in Ankeny. Nancy is a board member of the Heartland Fragile X Alliance.
“For years we were unaware that the National Fragile X Foun- dation existed. We felt alone in our life journey with a special needs son. Since discovering the National Foundation and becoming part of the parent Community Support Network, we feel that we aren’t the only ones. We are excited to help ‘give back’ and hope to create awareness for families that may be searching for answers as to why their child is different.”
